On Tuesday, January 18, Stephen Robert Stamps gave his family a thumbs up, imploring them to feel "no sad . . . only happy" and went to be with his precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Stephen was born on December 22, 1964, in Springdale, Ark., to Joe and Johnny Stamps. He ran track at Ramay Junior High. He was a member and president of the Vocational and Industrial Clubs of America while attending Fayetteville High School. His eye for a technical vocation led him to attend college at Oklahoma State University Tech in Okmulgee, Okla. After graduation, Stephen started working at Autoquip in Guthrie, Okla., as a CAD draftsman. Stephen stayed with Autoquip for his entire 37-year career. In later years, he transitioned to work with production and supervision. His tenacious desire, constant dedication, and kind smile were all well-regarded and respected by his coworkers and supervisors. Stephen is survived by his wife, Cora of Edmond, Okla., who will always be his Princess; his son, Taylor (Haley) of Denver, Colo., who will miss Stephen's adventurous spirit and love of the mountains; his son, Trenton (Kaitlynn), and grandson Riggins Bennett of Newalla, Okla., who will miss Stephen's love of fishing and his eagerness to show up as Grandad. He is also survived by his parents, Joe and Johnny Stamps of Fayetteville, Ark.; his siblings, Paige Mahoney of Springdale, Ark., Merritt Weeks of Bryan, Texas, Stan Stamps of Springdale, Ark., and Marty Stamps of Roanoke, Va.; and an abundance of loving and caring uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews, who will miss his love and joy. A celebration of Stephen's life was held Monday, January 24, 2022, in Edmond, Okla., with a graveside service following at Arcadia IOOF Cemetery. The family has designated donations to Faithworks of the Inner City, OKC. www.faithworksokc.com.
