Jeannine M Clevenger

Jeannine Marie Blakemore Clevenger passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born in Houston, Texas, on October 22, 1951. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Jerry Lee Clevenger, who passed away in December 2016 after 45 years of marriage; together, they filled their days with adventure, lived simply, but they loved to the fullest, and their love for each other was infinite; mother, Barbetta Bell of Fayetteville; brother, James L. Blakemore of Fayetteville; father-in-law, Clifford "Tootsie" Clevenger of Fayetteville; and nephew, Chip Clevenger of Farmington. Jeannine is survived by her father, Jim Blakemore (Mary Francis) of Johnson; brother, Larry Blakemore of Pine Bluff; mother-in-law, Mary Clevenger of Fayetteville; three children: Amy Clevenger Evans and husband Keith of Fayetteville, Kyle Clevenger of Oklahoma City, Okla., Christie Clevenger Dirkach and Coley Pitchford of Fayetteville; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Kutko Clevenger of Elkins; nine grandchildren: Ethan Evans and wife Samantha of Elkins, Layne Evans and Ben Evans of Fayetteville, Dalton Clevenger, Kyleigh Clevenger, and Brooklynn Clevenger of Elkins, and Drew Dirkach, Gracie Dirkach, and Jillian Dirkach of Fayetteville; three great-grandchildren: Blakelee, Camden, and Hudsyn Evans; closest friends, Pat Stevens, Debbie (Mike) Clevenger, and Jeannie (Jerry) Silvis; and many nieces, nephews, family, friends, and fur-baby, Buster. Jeannine worked as a federal employee for many years, and retired in 2014 from the VA Hospital in Fayetteville. She is remembered as having a big heart and cared deeply for family, friends, and others - she never met a stranger. She was compassionate, always ready to listen, a giver of advice, and she had a feisty sense of humor. Throughout Jeannine's life, she had many hobbies and interests. She was an avid reader of mystery and science-fiction books, and she enjoyed watching Ghost Hunters and crime shows. She had an artistic eye and enjoyed painting, crafts, and knitting items for her grandchildren. She was a loving Nana, passionate about her grandkids, and enjoyed attending their sporting events, band and choir concerts, color guard performances, and other numerous activities. Jeannine would always say, "Family…we might not have it all together, but together we have it all." In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the charity of your choice in Nana's memory. We love and will forever miss you, Nana--Your family. She will be placed with her husband at the Natural cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Elkins Funeral and Cremation Service.
