Alice Marie Powell

Alice Marie Powell, 97, widow of Robert Powell, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, at Amberwood Heath in Benton. She was born Oct. 28, 1924, in Stuttgart to Adolph Henry and Ida Marie Wessels. She was homemaker and member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Her hobbies were china painting and buying and selling antiques and she loved working in her yard. She and her husband enjoyed camping and were members of the Good Sam's Club. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Wessels; and sister, Edith Dickson. Survivors are her son, Ronny Powell and wife, Donna, of Clinton; her daughter, Karen Herring and husband, Larry, of Benton; grandchildren, Brian Powell and wife, Melissa, of Jonesboro, Kristi Powell of Clinton, Jason Herring and wife, Angie, of North Little Rock, and Chris Herring and wife, Marilyn, of Sherwood; great-grandchildren, Harrison Powell and wife, Bekah, and Nickolas Powell of Jonesboro, Weston Carroll and Jackson Carroll of Clinton, and Jaxon Herring and Allison Herring of North Little Rock; and great-great-grandson, Owen Powell of Jonesboro. Visitation is 10 a.m. Saturday followed by funeral services, officiated by Ray Vester, at 11 a.m. at Turpin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery. www.turpin-co.com
