Bill E. Wilson

Bill E. Wilson, age 101, peacefully passed away January 15, 2022, at the home of his daughter in Encinitas, Calif. He grew up in the Concord community of Lonoke, Ark. While serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII, he married his beloved Ruth Larkin. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a man of few words, a gentleman of integrity and dignity, easy to respect and look up to. He and Ruth were faithful members of the Lonoke Baptist Church where they devoted themselves to teaching young married couples for many years. He also served as a deacon and sang in the church choir. He owned and worked at Body and Trailer Builders in North Little Rock until he retired. The years following retirement were spent traveling with his brothers, Leo and Al, and their wives, Bernice and Edith, and fishing with Leo. He lost the love of his life when she was only 77 and lived alone in Lonoke until he was 94. He spent his remaining years in California with his daughter and son-in-law. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Larkin Wilson. He is survived by his brother, Van Wilson, of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Billie Holt and husband, Rennie, of Encinitas, Calif.; son, John Larkin Wilson and wife, Martha, of Harrison, Ark.; four grandchildren, Jamey Foster of La Crescenta, Calif., Jeremy Holt of Redondo Beach, Calif., Bianca Harbison of Panama City Fla., and Leigh Roth of Woodville, Texas; and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be scheduled in Lonoke later this year.
