Silas Bogy

Silas Bogy, 84, of White Hall, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022. He was born March 10, 1937, in Wabbaseka, to Mack and Grace Polk Bogy. Silas was raised in Wabbaseka, graduating from Willie K. Hocker High School. He attended Agape Church in Little Rock. He started working for Dierks Papermill in 1958, retiring after 42 years in 2000. Silas also served in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Turner Neal Hunting Club. Silas enjoyed his many adventures with his lifelong friend and best buddy, Richard Martin. Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Jeffery Bogy; and siblings, Gene Bogy, Maxine Phillips and Chris Smith. Silas is survived by his wife, Ruth Bogy, whom he married July 26, 1983, in Pine Bluff; son, Eric Bogy; stepsons, Bryan Moltz and Brett Moltz; sister, Judy Harden; grandchildren, Garett Keedy, Madison Moltz, Grace Moltz and Isabella Moltz; and great-grandchild, Lylah Gober. Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Flat Bayou Cemetery in Altheimer with Harold Gene Bogy officiating. Masks will be required for the service.
