William Pat Hawkins

William R. "Pat" Hawkins, 81, of Rison, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He was born March 20, 1940, in Altheimer to the late Raymond and Audrey Smith Hawkins. Pat was reared and educated in Altheimer, graduating from Altheimer High School. He then served in the U.S. Navy. Pat retired from the International Paper Pine Bluff Mill. He was the co-owner, along with his wife Odell, of Hawkins Grocery on 6th Street in Pine Bluff. Pat loved fishing and camping and also enjoyed sitting on his porch. He was a Baptist. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Odell Davis Hawkins, whom he married November 3, 1969 in Greenville, Miss., and who passed away July 7, 2010; daughter, Sandra Burr; grandchild, Ray Adamson; and all of his siblings. Survivors include one daughter, Diane Allred of Rison; three grandchildren, Jimmy Reynolds Jr., Jennie Reynolds and James Adamson; three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Ralph Robinson and Son. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Roselawn Cemetery with Thomas Lanthrip officiating.
