Johnny Ralph Burgess

Johnny Ralph Burgess, passed away January 23, 2022, at home in Benton, Ark. He was born August 29, 1942, in Houlka, Mississippi, to Dorothy Luella Luther Burgess and John Felix Burgess as the oldest of seven children. He married the love of his life, Ruth Ann Sweet of Archie, Missouri, on November 20, 1965. He served in the U.S. Army, was a journeyman tool and die maker, and started his own machine shop, JB Molds, in Alexander, in 1986. He was very active in Northside Church of Christ and enjoyed golf, reading, and spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Kenneth David Burgess, Larry Dale "Bubba" Burgess, and Henry Michael "Mickey" Burgess. He is survived by siblings, Bonnie Sue Brown of Houlka, Mississippi, Zadie Ruth Bailey (George) of West Point, Mississippi, and Richard Lee Burgess (Ronnie Sue) of Houlka, Mississippi, his wife, Ruth Ann Burgess, sons Johnny Burgess II (Kristie Olson) of Little Rock and Michael Burgess (Beth Webb) of Mabelvale, grandchildren Ryan Burgess, Ally Burgess, Miles Burgess, Samuel Olson, Porter Gregory, and Trevor Gregory, and many, many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was loved and will be missed by all. A visitation will be held at Northside Church of Christ in Benton on January 31, 2022, from 4-6 p.m., and memorial services will be held at the church on February 1, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. Internment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. His request was that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Morrilton Children's Home or to Corin Read Christian Camp.
