Jimmy Russell "Rusty" Wright was born on June 19, 1972. It was only appropriate that he celebrated his 50th and last birthday on Father's Day. He lost his valiantly fought battle with cancer on June 25, 2022, surrounded by his family and the love of Jesus. While we mourn our loss at his death, we will celebrate the life that he lived. Rusty was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle and friend. He was a talented artisan who designed and fabricated ornamental iron fences, gates, rails and decorative aspects of may homes in central Arkansas for more than 25 years. The home construction downturn of 2008 required that Hope and Rusty close their business. He retooled his career and worked as an engineering tech for Caterpillar in North Little Rock until his death. Rusty was a humble man who was loyal to his family, friends and employer. He loved the Lord and he daily practiced a charity of spirit towards all. He had a smile for everyone and genuinely enjoyed sharing life with them. We will miss his presence but are so grateful to have passed his way. Rusty is survived by his wife, Hope; his sons, Ryan (Shelby), Hunter, and Michael; his expected grandson, Elijah Russell; his mother, Connie; sister, Misty (Brian); parents-in-law, Sara and John Langston; brothers-in-law, JP (Carmen) Langston and Vaun (Amy) Langston; nieces; cousins; aunts and uncles. He had developed close friendships with so many throughout his life who also mourn his passing. Rusty was predeceased by his father, Jimmy Wright; and his beloved grandparents, "Nanny" Sue and Dorwood Wright, Mattie Lou and AJ Lipsmeyer. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday June 30, 2022, 6-8 p.m., at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock. Funeral services will be Friday July 1, 2022, 10 a.m., at Little Rock West Assembly of God, 16403 Lamarche Drive, Little Rock. Burial will follow funeral services in the Oak Grove Cemetery in the Pleasant Valley Community near Bigelow, Ark. The family is grateful for the concern and medical care given Rusty over the past 5 1/2 years by Dr. Lawrence Mendelsohn and his staff at CARTI in Little Rock, Ark. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to CARTI or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
