James Franklin Robbins, 80, passed away March 11, 2022, in Arkadelphia, Ark. Jim was born November 22, 1941, in Memphis, Tenn., to the late Sammie Franklin Robbins and Flora Ross Robbins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Augie DeRitter. James graduated from Memphis State University; was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran; and retired as a wildlife biologist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He is survived by his daughter, Tracey Hughes; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Mabe and Gracelyn Hughes, all of Cookeville, Tenn.; his sister, Sandra DeRitter; nieces, Alisa (Mike) Moore and Debbie (Mark) Matthews; two great-nephews, all of Nesbit, Miss., and his special friend and caregiver, Cindy Woodson Jackson of Amity, Ark. There will be no formal burial, however, there will be a celebration of Jim's life to be held at a later date near Arkabutla Dam (Coldwater, Miss.), at Dub Patton Recreation Area-Picnic Shelter. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood, Ark. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
