Relda Estelle Groves Frisby

Relda Estelle Groves Frisby, 93, of New London, passed through death into life everlasting on March 13, 2022. She was born December 4, 1928, to MacDonald and Estelle Brazzell Groves. Her mother died in childbirth. After 18 months with her maternal Aunt Ethyl and husband Dr. Frank Boyce, she was raised by her eldest sister, Eunice and husband Floyd McKnight, along with her father. She was the oldest member of the New London Baptist Church, which was her rock and anchor throughout life. She met her late husband of 62 years, Lloyd Farris Frisby, in Sunday School there as a child. Together they ran the family farm working side by side. She taught children's Sunday School for 37 years, influencing many young lives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and five siblings, Eunice McKnight, Lorina Lyons, Joseph Groves, George Groves, and Thomas Groves. She is survived by her son, William Larry (Charlene); two grandsons Norman Boyd (Suzanne), Michael Lawrence (Megan); and three great-grandsons, Aidan Michael, Colin Farris, and Kellen Lloyd Frisby. Memorial service will be at New London Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2022, with visitation on hour prior to the service. The service will be conducted by Rev. Robert Wetherington and Rev. Terry Smith. Pallbearers will be Lloyd Phelps, Michael Phelps, John Christian, John Henry, Dale Fife, and Johnny Phelps. Honorary pallbearer will be Thomas Garner. Interment will be in Green Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to New London Baptist Church, 1502 Winchester Rd., Strong, Ark. 71765.
