Garry Lee Brashears, of Rogers, age 81, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born on Thursday, August 8, 1940, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Otis and LuElla Brashears (Donavan). He grew up in Kansas City and enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 18, serving for 22 years as Chief Petty Officer. He retired from the military in 1981 where he and his wife, Carolyn, moved to Northwest Arkansas where he spent the remainder of his years. Garry loved to make knives, which he and his son would sell at various craft fairs around the country. He loved his wife of 55 years, Carolyn, who passed away in 2016, and his family dearly. They were everything to him. He was preceded in death by his parents; Otis and LuElla, his wife; Carolyn, one daughter; Deanna Brashears, and one brother; Ronald Brashears. Garry is survived by his three children; Daniel Brashears, Tammy Green, and Andrea Madrid, all of Rogers, five grandchildren; Jacob, Joshua, Taylor, Brayden, and Gracelynn, and one sister; Janice Henderson of Florida. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 19, at Epting Funeral Home of Bentonville from 6 to 8 p.m. His ashes will be buried at Bentonville City Cemetery at a later date, with military honors.
