Robert Leroy Spears

Robert L. Spears, known to generations of friends and fans as Bob Robbins, passed away May 21, 2022. He was born on May 16, 1944, in Auburndale, Fla., to the late Lenard and Georgia Spears. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; 12 siblings; father and mother-in-law, J.C. and Bernadine Dorsey; brothers-in-law, Harvey Skorcz, Stephen and Stuart Dorsey; and nephew, Joseph Hill. Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan; sons, Ben (Jessica), of Metter, Ga., Robert (Brooke) of Sheridan; daughter; Stephanie, of Sheridan; grandchildren, Harley, Hagan, Dorsey, Bryar and Oakley Spears; bonus grandchildren, John, Blake, and Sarah; sister-in-law, Sharon Skorcz, all of Sheridan, Ark.; and a brother, Jeff Spears of Florida. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. Everyone is welcome to attend the visitation and funeral. Visitation will be at First Landmark Baptist Church in Sheridan, Arkansas (402 West Center) on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will also be at the church, 10 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022, with Bro. Michael Walton officiating. The burial service following will be private. The funeral will also be livestreamed on Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Sheridan, Ark., Facebook page. Anyone who knew Bob, knew that one of his favorite projects every year was helping make "Toy Hill" and the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots program a success, helping to put smiles on the faces of countless children in Arkansas. We ask that everyone attending the visitation or funeral service, bring an unwrapped toy as a tribute to Bob and this great cause that he was so passionate about. Just like Toy Hill, there will be a collection station outside the Church. You can also make monetary contributions toward this program.
