Ronald Vern Lester

RONALD VERN LESTER, 82, passed away on 5 Nov. 2022 at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock. Ron grew up in the small town of Warsaw, N.Y. After high school, Ron served honorably for 22 years in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam War veteran. During his time in the service, Ron served in several locations in the US and around the world including Germany, Vietnam, and Libya. While in the service, Ron earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration from Park College and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas. After retiring from the Air Force, Ron began working for the Department of Finance and Administration until eventually retiring again after working for nearly 30 more years. Ron was a brilliant, hardworking, and incredibly loving man. Ron enjoyed his retirement to the fullest and spent all his time enjoying his family. Ron was preceded in death by his daughter, Erin; his parents; and two of his siblings, (Donnie and Linda). He's survived by his son, Jeff, and his partner of 32 years, Evelyn; his brother, Vern Jr.; two stepchildren; as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A visitation reception will be held at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, from 11 a.m., until 1 p.m., followed by a graveside service with military honors at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
