Linda Faye Brown

Vilonia, AR, 1944 - 2022

Linda Faye Brown, age 78, passed away October 28, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Velma Alene McClellan and Ora Van Thompson. She is survived by her husband, Nolan James Brown; son, Nolan James Brown Jr.; daughter-in-law, Robin Brown; and two beloved grandchildren, Olivia and Evan Brown. Linda was the third of four children. She is survived by sisters, Lorene Dyer and Marnell Parker; and brother Ronnie Erwin.
Linda was a quiet soul with a heart full of love for God and her family. She began each day with devotional prayer time. Linda and her husband celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this year. The couple enjoyed traveling and spent recent time at Gulf Shores, enjoying fresh shellfish.
She was notorious for falling asleep as soon as she sat still for more than five minutes. She was an avid reader of westerns and often would read while she walked on her treadmill. One of Linda's favorite pastimes was to spend hours reviewing house plans and tweaking the designs. Linda enjoyed Bluegrass music and had plans to attend an upcoming music festival.
She adored her son and his family. She was a doting grandmother who spent many hours with her grandkids and insisted on taking them out to eat every time she visited them. She was very adamant about paying for any family outings. Even on her birthdays, she was determined to finance the occasion. If somehow, you successfully paid the bill, hours later you would find she had snuck cash into something of yours to pay you back. She sent cards to the grandchildren enclosed with spending money for any holiday and weekly cards to them while they were away at college.
Many special memories are her time spent with Evan playing basketball, or playing cards and her developing felt creatures from Olivia's imagination. Linda even doted on the grandchildren's dog, complete with wrapping dog presents in puppy image gift wrap paper secured with her routine use of excess scotch tape.
Some of her favorite charities include Habitat for Humanity, St Jude's Children Hospital, and Shriners Hospitals for Children. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to consider making a blood donation or to contribute to one of the charities listed.
We welcome anyone sharing their thoughts and memories of Linda. In keeping with Linda's preference, a formal service will not occur. A private memorial for relatives will be planned in the near future. Arrangements are under the direction of
