Coach Ray Tucker, 63, of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at his home. Ray was born in Jacksonville, N.C., on Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base to Thomas and Lou Ann Smith Tucker. He was a graduate of Waldron High School as well as the University of Arkansas. Ray was a football coach at Blytheville High School for 28 years. He then went on to work at Skyline Steel for seven years before retiring. Ray was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed playing pool, running and reading. Ray loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ray is survived by his wife, Pat Davis Tucker of the home; sons, Trey Tucker and his wife Melissa of Sterling, Va., and Nicholaus Tucker of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Levi Blake Tucker and Vivienne Elaine Tucker; and sisters, Jo Ann Tyler of Springdale, Ark., and Connie Jean Janczys of Rogers, Ark. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 5-7 p.m., at Cobb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Blytheville High School Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1169, Blytheville, Ark., 72315 or to the First Baptist Church Library.
