Doris Self & Husband, Ronnie - Springdale, Ark. & NUMEROUS LOVING NIECES & NEPHEWS & AN ENTIRE COMMUNITY OF DEAR FRIENDS Charlsie was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Gene Griffith; her sons, Gary Gene Griffith & Mark Kevin Griffith: her son-in-law, Wayne Samples; grandchildren, Megan DeMauro & Shane Griffith, her parents; Tommie & Ethel Lockhart, brother, Darrel Wayne Lockhart & sister, Margaret Howard. Charlsie was a graduate of Springdale High School in Springdale, Ark., where she was the editor of the high school newspaper, a math genius and straight A student. Charlsie, a raven-haired beauty, was an Arkansas rodeo queen. Her rodeo queen picture still graces the wall and menus at the AQ Chicken House in Springdale, Ark. Charlsie and her husband, Gene Griffith, were involved in the funeral business for sixty plus years, helping countless families with their generous loving hearts and their never-ending compassion. She was the matriarch of well-loved funeral homes in the Tulsa and Sand Springs areas, Heath-Griffith Funeral Home until 1992 and currently Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Homes. She was an active member of Red Fork Baptist Church and past member of Eastside Baptist Church in Tulsa, Okla., where she and her husband were very active in the ministry and children's ministry. She was the Past Grand Chaplain of the Grand Chapter of the Eastern Star of Oklahoma in 1994 and was Past Worthy Matron of the Red Fork Chapter of Eastern Star. She was very proud of her accomplishments as the manager of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Oklahoma Credit Union, where she retired after 29 years, building it into a multi-million-dollar credit union. Charlsie was a loving and adoring wife, mother and grandmother. She was a soft spoken and a goal driven woman of class and intelligence. She will be terribly missed. The family will greet friends and family at Mark Griffith's Westwood Chapel on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held Friday, October 14, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Red Fork Baptist Church in Tulsa, Okla., with interment at Woodland Memorial Park in Sand Springs, Okla., Under the loving care of Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Home – Westwood Chapel in Tulsa, Okla.
