Harold Gene Chronister, 82, of Benton, Ark., passed away October 4, 2022. Harold was born July 13, 1940 to the late Virgil Chronister and Robbie (Allen) Chronister. Harold was a perfect husband and father and loved his family more than anything. He was honest, kind, caring, wise and thoughtful. Harold enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing. As a hobby, he repaired fishing rods and reels. Harold loved his four-legged fur baby, Buster and treated him like family. He worked as a journeyman machinist for Alcoa for over 32 years and was a member of the United Steelworkers local 4880. He was a founding member and on the board of directors at the Alcoa Community Credit Union. Prior to working at Alcoa, he was a machinist at Pickins Instrumentation making lunar landing module parts for NASA. In 2018, Harold was the first person in Arkansas to receive a LVAD which enabled him to extend his life and spend more time with his family making precious memories. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Chronister and Robbie (Allen) Chronister; four sisters; three brothers; and granddaughter, Heather. Harold is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Martha Anne (Turner) Chronister; son, Joey and wife, Kay; daughter Gena Davis and husband, Tommy; grandchildren: Haley Chronister, Turner Davis, Hunter Chronister, Julia Davis, and Emily Davis; great-grandchild, Sailor Mae Chronister; sisters: Reba and Bobbie; brother, Billy; as well as host of other family members and friends that all loved Harold and will miss him dearly.
