Fred Eugene Williams

FRED EUGENE WILLIAMS, 87, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away on October 7, 2022. Fred was born on July 17, 1935, to Frank and Eugenia Williams of Little Rock, Ark. After graduating Little Rock High School in 1953, he went on to earn an associate degree at Little Rock City College in Little Rock, Ark. After graduation, he went to work for the Arkansas State Highway Department, where he served as Chief Engineer of the Right of Way Division. In 1957, he met Nina Milam, and they wed on June 8, 1958. After retiring in 1992, Fred spent his time volunteering and enjoying his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Fred was predeceased by his parents Frank and Eugenia, brother Tommy Smith Williams (Katherine) and the love of his life, wife Nina Williams. He is survived by his brother, Larry Richard Williams (Marilyn). He is also survived by his three children, Steven Williams (Pam) of Graford, Texas, Karen Winston (Marvin) of Greenbriar, Ark., and Kyle Williams (Denise) of Conway, Ark. In addition, he will be missed by his seven grandchildren, Sarah Morris (Bryan) of Seymour, Texas, Rachel Williams of Stephenville, Texas, Mitch Williams (Shana) of Kansas City, Mo., Jacob Williams of Lenexa, Kan., Zachary Winston (KC) of Little Rock, Ark., Matthew Winston (and girlfriend Hannah Davis) of Little Rock, Ark., and Caleb Winston of Conway, Ark. Fred was a great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren: Caroline, Emma and Tripp Morris of Seymour, Texas and Joseph, Skyler and Aubrey Williams of Kansas City, Mo. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who loved to travel, and was constantly on the go. He loved playing golf, softball, baseball, going on cruises with special friends, and seeing many different parts of the world. We take comfort in knowing that we will meet him again in heaven. A memorial will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock on October 11, 2022 at 10 a.m. There will be no grave-side service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his two favorite charities that were dear to him: Arkansas Alzheimer's Association and the Arkansas Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
