Gaylon Eugene Miller, 85, of Hazen, Ark., passed away on September 2, 2022 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock. Eugene was born in Stuttgart, Ark., on January 13, 1937, and was preceded in death by his parents Gaylon and Neva (Tallent) Miller, and his sister, Sue Brummett. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Omega (Coulson) Miller; son, Paul Miller and wife, Nancy; daughter, Suzann Welch and husband, Chris and one grandson, Christopher Welch. Eugene was a graduate of De Valls Bluff High School and the University of Arkansas. He was a retired farmer from Tollville, and the former owner of Miller Chevrolet-Oldsmobile in Hazen. He was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church in Hazen, serving various roles within the church, including board chairman. He was a former board member of the United Methodist Children's Home and he was active with Arkansas Farm Bureau and served as local president. Services will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Hazen. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., followed by funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment to immediately follow at the Hazen Cemetery. The family request, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the United Methodist Children's Home through Methodist Family Health, 1600 Aldersgate Road, Little Rock, Ark., 72205.
