Bill Tom Searcy, age 80, of Star City went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 4, 2022. He was born at home in Palmyra on January 8, 1942, to the late William Charles and Hazel Culpepper Searcy. Bill Tom was retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad and a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church in Star City. He loved his church family and family more than words. After retirement, Bill Tom worked as a farmer and lived his last days doing what he loved. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and football. Mr. Searcy was preceded in death by the love of his life, Shirley Dean Searcy. Survivors include four daughters, Tammy Harris of Hot Springs, Jennifer Patrick and husband Tracy of Glendale, Shelly Garrison and husband Mark of Relfs Bluff, and Missy Owen and husband Mark of Star City; two brothers, Jim Searcy and wife Sammy of Monticello, and Danny Douglas Searcy and wife Iris of Mt. Ida, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Jason Harris of Oahu, Hawaii, Cassi Patrick and Emily Patrick, both of Glendale, Marly and (Chance) of Griffith Springs, Greg Sullivan (Jordan) of Tampa, Fla., Jordan Scifres (Garrett) of Randall, Taylor Jeffers (Garrett) of Star City, and Marissa Owen of Star City; five great-grandchildren; and his faithful companion, "Speck". Funeral services are 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Southside Baptist Church in Star City. Bro. Jarrod Pettit and Bro. Doney Blackerby will officiate. Visitation is from 1-3 p.m. before the funeral Wednesday at the Church. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Glendale. Pallbearers are Brett Stephens, Dwayne Bates, Mark Owen, Scott McMillen, Tracy Patrick, and Chip Wallace. In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to Macedonia Mission Builders, 500 Macedonia Way, Somerset, Ky. 42503. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service of Star City.
