Betty Sue Boswell

Betty Sue (Bishop) Boswell, 87, previously of Desha, passed away on September 11, 2022. She was born on July 6, 1935, in Manila, Ark., to the late James Hugh Bishop and Margie (Nash) Bishop. Betty enjoyed music with her husband and sons, traveling to music festivals with them, and working in her flowerbeds. She worked as a seamstress at Westport Casuals, making Betty Rose coats and served as shop steward of her ILGWU Union local. She later worked as a technician at Pro-Dentec, and was a homemaker. Betty was also active in the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her two sons: Tony (Susan) Boswell of Springdale, Ark., and Kelly Boswell of Conway, Ark.; her grandson, Dexter Boswell; one great-granddaughter, Macie Boswell; and her youngest sister, Helen (Bishop) Woodruff of Cordova, Tenn.; plus several nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Boswell, and her parents. There will be a visitation, Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 12 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 2 p.m., both at Willis Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville, Ark. Interment will follow at Egner Cemetery near Salado, Ark. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Mrs. Betty's nephews. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Wood-Lawn Heights of Batesville and Kindred Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Egner Cemetery Association (P.O. Box 57, Salado, Ark., 72575) or Alzheimer's Arkansas (www.alzark.org).
