Joe K. Watkins, Sr.

Joe K. Watkins, Sr., 80, of Elkins, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022, at his home. He was born March 20, 1942, in Tennessee to Robert and Anne Lusk Watkins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joe Watkins, Jr.; a brother, Roberts Watkins; a sister, Reba Sharber; and a grandmother, Theora Watkins. Joe retired from Shuler Autohaus after 35-plus years of service. He enjoyed working cattle on the farm. He enjoyed being around his grandkids and great-grandkids. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Johnnie Ann Oliver Watkins; a son, Johnathan Watkins of Fayetteville; two daughters, JoAnna Farmer of Wisconsin and Jada Curran of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Paige Tucker, Payton Johnson, Lani Howard, McKala Fitts, Jacob Hoffman, Addison Watkins and Shelby Watkins; and four great-grandchildren (with one on the way). The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Beard's Chapel. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Beard's Chapel.
