VIRGIL NELSON LUEBKE (PAP), 93, of Maumelle, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022. He was born in Crocketts Bluff, Arkansas to John and Mary Luebke. Virgil (Bookie) had one brother, Ralph (deceased) and two sisters, Hazel and Kathryn (deceased). Virgil was a corporal in the Korean War from 1952-1956, receiving a purple heart. He was a baptist and served as a deacon for many years at Rosedale Baptist Church in Little Rock. Virgil is currently a member of First Baptist Church of Maumelle. Virgil was first married to Charlene Weathers Luebke, and raised three children: Bill, Mike, and Linda and three grandchildren: Brandi, Dustin, and Kristen. Charlene passed away from breast and uterine cancer. He married his recent wife, Margie (Dee) Stapleton Luebke, also known as wifey to him. They were married for twenty years. Dee has three children: Linda Jennings, Judy Gingerich, and Jimmy Stapleton (deceased). Virgil retired from KTHV television in Little Rock as an engineer. He spent many years working on top of Shinall Mountain, making sure we all had television. After retirement, he was employed by Enterprise Rental Company, where he met many friends. Virgil loved fishing for crappies and enjoyed sharing his catch with family and friends with big fish fries. Virgil leaves behind his wife, Margie (Dee); and three children: Bill (Dewanna) Luebke of Conway, Mike Luebke of Mayflower, and Linda Luebke of Little Rock; two stepchildren: Linda (Bill) Jennings of North Little Rock, and Judy (Greg) Gingerich of Bryant; three grandchildren: Brandi (Mike) Bartlett of Cabot, Dustin (Kaiser) Luebke of Greenbrier, Kristen (Scott) Heath of Conway; six great-grandchildren: Masen and Reese Bartlett, Carter, Anasyn, and Whit Luebke, and Cannon Heath. Funeral service with Pastor William Jaques of First Baptist Church of Maumelle officiating will be at 11 a.m, Monday, September 26, 2022, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home.
