Lorene Howell Davis went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2022. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. Her feisty and loving nature that so many were touched by, will continue to live on for years to come. Lorene was born to take care of others. She took great pride in supporting her husband, Billy Willis, in his US Air Force military career. During his career, the family moved around the United States as well as spending two years in Japan. In all the moves she was the steadfast rock. Her five children were blessed to have a stay-at-home mom throughout their growing years. Lorene especially loved little ones and when her own were past that age, she extended her heart and home to foster 18 babies in a span of two years. When Bill retired, the family moved home to Arkansas and started farming. Lorene continued to be a supportive wife and took care of the home. As the years continued, she was able to spend her time with her children and grandchildren. After Bill passed, in 1988, Lorene's life did not stop. She traveled all over the country with her children, grandchildren, and friends. Affectionately known for her "Davis Tacos", on multiple occasions she fried over 100 tacos in one sitting. The taco tradition has continued in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent many days at church quilting with her church friends. Through her ventures with her family and friends, many people got to know Lorene and were touched by her loving spirit. Lorene was a member of Searcy Faith Assembly of God. She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant, as was obvious in the way she lived her 99 years of life. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents William Henry Howell and Jewell Green Howell, her husband Billy Willis Davis; two brothers, Pellie Howell and Stacy Howell; son Robert Leon Davis, and great-granddaughter Kynlei Elizabeth Atkinson. She is survived by her children: Howell Douglas Davis, Nancy "Bob" Davis, Debra Stypinski(Mark), Vickie Hill(Tom), and Edwin Davis(Nancy Q.), her grandchildren: Dawn Atkins, Danna Woody(Andy), Didi Davis, Kim Boyd(Shane), Robbye Atkinson(Kevin), John Oulette(Aimee), Jeremy Oulette(Courtney), Jason Oulette(Alyce), Lisa Green(Ross), Blair Rector(Brendal), Sarah Smith, Stephanie Thompson(Chris), and Jessica Green(Alan), 27 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy, with Service to follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Mt Pisgah Cemetery.
