Rev. Billy D. Corley, age 88, of White Hall, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at his home. He was born July 26, 1934, at Paris, Ark., (Logan County), a son of the late Ben and Minnie Bench Corley. He was an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Church of God, pastoring churches at Sherril, Pine Bluff, and Monticello. He loved people and ministering to their needs. He was a graduate of Willie K. Hocker School at Wabbaseka and graduated from the Arkansas Institute of Ministry. He attended Monticello A&M College and Syracuse University, New York, and was retired from the Pine Bluff Arsenal. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Vernon, Herman, and Sherman Corley; four sisters, Martha and Elsie McWhorter, Marie Walker, and Catherine Davis; a great-grandson, Caden Ingle; and son-in-law, Jerry Welch. Survivors include his wife, Louise Corley, whom he married on July 12, 1954, at England; one daughter, Ellen Welch; three sons, Michael (Nancy) Corley, Billy Wayne (Sonya) Corley, and Philip (Christy) Corley; 12 grandchildren, Jonathan (Jessica) Welch, Angela (James) Pennington, Amy (Lance) Shadle, Mica (Ryan) Sutton, Megan (Bobby) Halstead, Billy Wayne, II (Lauren) Corley, Sarah (Jake) Blocker, Ben, Josh, and Abbi Corley, Amanda (Will) Johnson, and Sarah (Kevin) Beadle; 16 great-grandchildren, Ethan and Caleb Shadle, Trenton Pennington, Aiden, Drew, Ellie, and Breah Welch, Lilly and Faith Corley, Addilyn Blocker, Rylah and Presley Sutton, Brittney Pennington, Lane Johnson, and Sydney and Silas Beadle; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2023, at Robinson and Fuller White Hall. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Chapel with the Revs. Travis Creekmore and Charles McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Mulberry Cemetery, England, Ark. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
