Roger Hubert McCarley

Roger Hubert McCarley passed away May 31, 2023. Born on Christmas Day, 1946, he enjoyed growing up in a loving, hard-working, agricultural family in Hardin. He spent some of his youth working in McCarley's Grocery Store in Pine Bluff. Roger graduated from Dollarway High School. He served and was honorably discharged from the Arkansas National Guard in 1973. Afterwards he worked as a welder for Dierks and others and stayed close to his roots his entire life residing in Grant County. Roger loved working on classic cars and motorcycles. He was a seasoned collector of vintage and antique items. According to his many friends, Roger was an avid, entertaining storyteller. Roger was predeceased by his parents, Hubert N. McCarley and Mattie E. Elkins. He leaves a daughter, Mandy McCarley; a son, Tobey McCarley; a grandson, Kyler McCarley; sisters, Emily (McCarley) Robertson and Judy McCarley-Majewski of Tyler, Texas; Joye McCarley-Short (Jeff) of Malvern; younger brother, Charles McCarley, of Grant County; a double-first cousin, Darrell McCarley (Diane), of Dallas, Texas; and many nephews and nieces.
