Anna Virginia Gray Price, 76, entered into her eternal rest on October 1st, 2023. She was born on January 15th, 1947, to Anna Elizabeth Jones and Bartus M. Gray. Ginger, a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert Dean Price; brothers, Bart Gray (Carolyn) and Thad Gray (Ruth); children, Robert McFalls, Christie Turk, and Bethany Rice (John); and grandchildren, Caleb Patton (Heather), Dylan Turk, Coker Patton, Lilly Patton, and Julian Phillips; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was loved by friends, colleagues, students, and her life-long community. Ginger grew up in Jacksonville, Ark., attended Jacksonville schools, and graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1965. She was a strong student, attending the Mississippi College for Women, later known as the Mississippi University for Women. For years after graduating, Ginger would go on to a successful career of teaching in the Pulaski County School District, including Jacksonville High School, Northwood Middle School, and North Pulaski High School. It was at North Pulaski Ginger would become the Co-Founder of the Simply Delicious restaurant, an education program for high school students to help prepare them for the culinary and food-service industries. She was always recognized by her students and peers as an excellent teacher, creating a lasting impact on many of her students who, over the years, went on to continue advanced training in the culinary arts and become certified chefs. Among all of these achievements, one of her greatest and most treasured was being an active participant and member of her dynamic book club, a bond that has lasted well beyond two decades. She was a much loved member of the Golden Girls, which met monthly and began in 1999. After attaining a Master's degree from the University of Arkansas, she was then certified as an Executive Chef. She was an active leader and mentor within the Arkansas Chef Association, as well as being a Co-Founder to a local catering service that provided services to the community for many years. Finally, she was given the honor of "Arkansas Chef of the Year" and gained national recognition for her work in the Culinary Arts. Ginger was an exceptional woman whose impact will be forever felt by her family, community, and students who loved her dearly. She was a brilliant woman whose passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of her loved ones. Her ability to sacrifice, provide, inspire, forgive, and love will be forever engrained in all she knew. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2023, at First United Methodist Church (308 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Ark.), with visitation one hour prior to the service, 9 a.m., at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, Literacy Action of Central Arkansas, or the UAMS Myeloma Center.
