Joseph "Zach" Tenberge

Joseph Zacharias Tenberge, 35, of Huntsville passed away Monday, September 18, 2023, at home. He was born Thursday, July 21, 1988, at Fayetteville to John and Connie Young Tenberge. Zach was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a graduate of Huntsville High School. Zach's life was greatly enriched by his profound love for sports. He had an extraordinary connection with the Stray Dogs basketball team, a lifetime bond that went beyond games with his teammates. Zach was known for his warm and inclusive nature, treating his friends as if they were family. After earning his Masters of Education from Arkansas Tech University, Zach took on various roles at Greenland Schools. He became a coach in both basketball and softball, and also served as a teacher for Physical Education, Health, and ninth grade science. Zach's commitment to education and sports left a lasting impact on those he worked with and taught. His love for grilling and smoking meats reflected the enjoyment he found in sharing meals with loved ones. He always displayed genuine care and compassion towards others and his life was characterized by his kindness and the positive impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. Zach is survived by his parents, John and Connie Tenberge of Huntsville; his brother and sister-in-law, Caleb and Jessica Tenberge of Paron; his two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lindsey and Grant Belyea of Springdale, and Johnna Tenberge of Springfield, Mo.; his nieces and nephews, Ford Tenberge, Jenkins Tenberge, Akasha Belyea, and Allie Tenberge. He is also survived by his grandparents, Bob and Patty Young of Huntsville; and a host of friends too numerous to count. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Joe and Theresa Tenberge, and Carol Young, all of Hemet, Calif. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the Charles H. Berry Gymnasium in Huntsville. Zach suffered with neurofibromatosis, so in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Zach's name may be made to Children's Tumor Foundation at https://join.ctf.org/give/163231/#!/donation/checkout. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
