Jennie Kay Green, age 80 of Malvern, died Saturday, April 6, 2024 in Little Rock. She was born on May 4, 1943 in Malvern to the late R. L. Hamilton and Katherine Knight Hamilton. Growing up and receiving her early education in Malvern, she graduated Malvern High School with the class of 1961. Jennie Kay furthered her education at Ouachita Baptist University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. For a number of years she was a librarian and school teacher. Jennie Kay was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Malvern. She was the widow of the late George Green, to whom she was married on August 14, 1970 in the First Baptist Church. George preceded her in death on September 11, 2019. Jennie Kay was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Dr.William Robert Green. She is survived by her son, Michael Green of Benton; two grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Green and Gabbie Cate Green; her sister-in-law Carolyn Green of Jonesboro; and by two nephews, Robert Green and Edward Green. Graveside services will be held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, April 11, 2024 in Shadowlawn Cemetery with Brother Billy Bartlett officiating and under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home. A visitation at the funeral home will precede the service by one hour, beginning at one o'clock. Memorials are requested to First Baptist Church, 531 S. Main Street, Malvern, Ark. 72104.
