Roger Lee McDaniel (7/17/1946- 3/20/2024) of Garfield, Ark., passed away at age 77. Roger was born in Washington, Mo., to James and Dorothy McDaniel; and had a brother, Jim, and two sisters, Sandy and Patti. After college at the University of Missouri at Rolla and serving as Staff Sargent in the United States Air Force, he began a career in construction management. Roger's early career took him to major projects in Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska before settling in northwest Arkansas in 1979. He was a loyal leader serving from then until retiring as President of Nabholz Construction for the NW Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri Region. Roger took great pride in local projects such as NWACC, Bentonville High School, Crystal Bridges, Roaring River Lodge and numerous banks, schools, and hospitals. He was a tireless worker and developed many lifelong friendships through his work in Arkansas. Roger married his high school sweetheart, Janet, in May of 1966. Roger and Janet enjoyed an amazing marriage of 56 years, and the Lord blessed them with three great children, son, Matt (wife Heather), and grandson Bennett and granddaughter Ellis of Little Rock; daughter, Jennifer Plumlee (husband Eric), and grandson Brooks of Farmington, and son, Ryan (wife Leslie), and grandsons Hayden, Miller, Rhett, and John Ryan of Bentonville. He loved fishing, gardening, woodworking, traveling, card games but most of all spending time with his family. Roger's goal throughout his life was to serve the Lord. He shared his love of Christ with others through his sense of humor, pranks, and countless jokes. Roger was truly a joy to be with for family, friends and colleagues. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, and beloved wife, Janet. He is survived by his children and grandchildren; his brother, Jim McDaniel (wife Ellen); and sisters and brothers-in-law, Gene and Jenny Stettes, Larry and Betty Clark, Mark Siess, Gary Thornhill, Linda Byrd, Richard Door, and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Roger's life will be held on March 26th, 2024, at Boundless Grace Bible Church in Little Flock, Ark. Visitation will start at 10 a.m., followed by a celebration service at 11 a.m., and a reception in the church fellowship hall.
