With an assist from reporters of the Arkansas Democrat and Arkansas Gazette, in August 1921 the American Legion’s Eberts Post No. 1 at Little Rock heavily promoted its community theater production of “H.M.S. Pinafore,” starring Arkansas Gov. Thomas McRae.
