How would you know who is on Jeff Long's list of candidates, Wally? You're so informed that I'm sure you'll let us know who the new coach is a week after the press conference.

    You suck. Please retire.

What an ugly season. The AD created a Frankstein without an electrical impulse and put Igor and his "staff" at the controls. And he got a $50k signing bonus for doing it.
If we had a strong Governor or AG or legislative control over UAF, nonsense like this could not occur.

Jackabbott, you again show your lack of sense. Read it and weep: Arkansas Constitution, Amendment 33. The BOT's powers are carved in stone; it is unconstitutional for the Governor, AG, legislature, or even courts to overrule them.
JLS was always an interim. This season was ruined when Bobby Petrino crashed his bike with his mistress AFTER putting her on the payroll, meaning Long had NO choice but to fire him at the WORST possible time--April, when every other good coach in the country was (a) under contract for 2012 and (b) deep in spring practice. JLS is certainly not SEC-caliber, but SEC-caliber simply wasn't available in April; it is now.

RBBrittain- let me bring you up to date, Petrino did not coach the team this year. JLS and his staff under the direction of the AD did-these are the facts. Vacancies happen all the time, organizaitons act upon them promptly. This is Management 101, guess you were sleeping through that course also.

RB - totally agree, but your are wasting your breath. Jack isn't happy unless he's dogging Long and Freshair is anything but fresh when Wally so much as writes his name on a piece of paper. I guess we should have revived one of the 80 year old coaches that was available back in April who once used the bathroom in Arkansas 20 yrs ago (ie, "Arkansas Ties"), give him a 5 yr deal worth millions and hope he doesn't die of old age before our first game... OR, could it be that Long really didn't have any viable candidates back in the spring? Shoot, now I'm wasting my breath...
