Driver dies after car runs off road, topples

— A Scranton woman died Wednesday after her car ran off a Logan County road and toppled onto its side, authorities said.

Robbie Lee Selph, 81, was driving a 1989 Mercury west on Patterson Bluff Road about 2:45 p.m. when the vehicle crossed the centerline and ran off the eastbound shoulder, according to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report.

Police say the Mercury ended up on its side with Selph partly ejected. She was taken to Johnson County Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Selph was the 334th person to die in a traffic accident in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary, unofficial figures from the state police.
