JERRY RIEF, 46 Cheyenne, Wyo., 2:52 Rief was fighting Plantar Fasciitis in his left foot Sunday, which slowed him down some. But Rief was able to complete the Little Rock Marathon in less than three hours. Rief has run sub 3-hour marathons in 41 states. Rief said he didn’t mind the cool temperatures Sunday, “The weather, it was perfect,” Rief said.

The winners of the men's and women's Little Rock marathon have crossed the finish line. Mark Chepses, of Kenya, was first on the men's side with an unofficial time of 2:24:07. Leah Thorvilson, of Little Rock, crossed in 2:45:51, taking the women's race for the third year in a row.

Anybody who was planning to sign up for the Little Rock Marathon or its half-marathon can forget that for this year. The 13.1-mile race filled up Tuesday (reaching 3,700 racers), and the marathon accepted its 2100th racer Thursday.
