Arkansas Razorbacks fall to Rutgers, 35-26

The University of Arkansas Razorbacks lost to the Rutgers Scarletknights on Saturday in Fayetteville with a score of 35-26.

This was the Razorbacks' third loss in the 2012 season.

After beginning the game ahead, the Razorbacks were unable to clinch a lead after halftime.

The Razorbacks scored the first points of the game with a field goal by kicker Zach Hocker making a field goal with a little more than 12 minutes left in the first half of the game.

The first quarter ended with the Hogs being ahead with a score of 10-0 after a 57-yard pass from quarterback Tyler Wilson to wide receiver Cobi Hamilton.

The Scarletnights weren't going down without a fight. With nine minutes remaining until halftime, Scarletknights runningback Jawan Jamison scored a touchdown with a 10-yard pass from quarterback Gary Nova, bringing the score to 7-10.

Rutgers wide receiver Brandon Coleman allowed the Scarletknights to get the lead with another touchdown. Coleman received a 19-yard pass from Nova, giving the Scarletknights a 14-10 lead going into halftime.

Coleman got another touchdown for the Scarletknights with 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter. Hocker got a field goal for the Hogs, bringing the score to 21-13, Rutgers. The Scarletknights scored another touchdown with tight end Paul Carrezola receiving a 2-yard pass from Nova. Rutgers was up 28-13 at the end of the third quarter.

Hamilton scored two touchdowns back to back in the fourth quarter for the Razorbacks. Hamilton received a 10-yard pass from Wilson with 12:36 remaining in the fourth, and then an 80-yard pass reception with 8:19 left. These two touchdowns put the Razorbacks within two points of the Scarletknights with a score of 28-26 with Rutgers ahead.

The Razorbacks attempted and failed to go for two points instead of kicking after Hamilton's 80-yard pass reception.

Rutgers wide receiver Mark Harrison received a 60-yard pass from Nova with 7:20 remaining in the fourth quarter, and ultimately winning the game for the Scarletknights.
