Rev. Eugene Brannon retirement celebration

August 15, 2013 11:52 a.m.

"Celebrating a Proven Ministry of Excellence and Servant Leadership." That was the theme for the Aug. 10 retirement celebration honoring the Rev. Eugene Brannon, a presiding elder for the African Methodist Episcopal Church, and his wife, Anita Brannon. The reverend — whose 44 years of service had culminated in his role as presiding elder of the Little Rock District, Arkansas Conference of the 12th Episcopal District — was unable to attend the event due to illness. But the banquet proceeded, beginning with a reception in the Riverside East room of Little Rock's Doubletree Hotel, then continued with a dinner and program in the ballroom of the hotel.
