Newport Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet

The Newport 78th annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet was held March 20 at the Newport Country Club. This was the first year for the event to have a theme, which was Cooperation, Collaboration and Partnership. “Any small town knows that it takes everyone working together to make big things happen,” said Julie Allen, director of the chamber. According to tradition, Allen announced Blackfoot and the Marshall Tucker Band as part of the talent lineup for PortFest, Newport’s summertime festival. The crowd filled the room at the Newport Country Club to participate in a spirited live auction led by John Pennington and to celebrate the individual and corporate winners in many business categories.
