DuMond case puts Huckabee in hot seat

Moms of 2 killed vow to stay vocal

Scrutiny of Mike Huckabee's role in a rapist's parole intensified this week, fueled in part by two Missouri women who partly blame the former Arkansas governor for their daughters' murders.

From the start of his Republican presidential campaign, Huckabee has occasionally been pressed about his support for Wayne DuMond's 1999 release from prison. DuMond later murdered one woman and faced trial for another killing before his 2005 prison-cell death.

But with Huckabee atop the Republican field in Iowa and climbing into second place in at least three nationwide surveys this week, the DuMond coverage has taken on a whole new scale.
