Benton to host Hunger Hike

— The 22nd Annual Hunger Hike will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at the First United Methodist Church Conway St. parking lot.

The length of the hike is 5 kilometers and will begin and end in the parking lot.

Registration will be held at 1:30 p.m.

Anyone raising $25 or more will receive a Hunger Hike Tshirt, and all participants will be eligible for door prizes drawn at the end of the hike.

Individual grand prizes will be awarded to the top money raisers in each of the followingage groups: Under 10, 10-20 years old, 21-50 years old and 51 and older.

All proceeds will go to the Churches Joint Council on Human Needs, which provides assistance and support in an organized manner to people in need.

The Churches Joint Council on Human Needs provides clothing, food, medications, utility assistance as well as personal support.

It is funded by member churches, private donations, United Way and occasional corporate and government gifts.
