Interception returns tie NCAA record

THIBODAUX, La. - Kareem Moore and Ladarius Webb each returned two interceptions for touchdowns in the first half to tie an NCAA single-game record and lead Nicholls State to a 58-0 victory over Northwestern (La.) State on Saturday.

The Colonels' four touchdowns on interception returns tied a record set by Houston in 1987 against Texas and tied in 2003 by Northwestern State against Southeastern Louisiana.

Moore and Webb also had 114 yards each on their returns.

Northwestern State was shut out for the first time since 2001, a 24-0 loss at Oklahoma State.

Moore had the game's first two touchdowns on interception returns of 49 and 65 yards.

Alex Romero had a 44-yard field goal and Joseph Tobias ran 3 yards for a touchdown to put the Colonels (4-1, 1-0 Southland) up 23-0 after one quarter over the Demons (2-1, 1-1).
