LITTLE ROCK — The Pulaski County Election Commission on Monday closed out the 2007 school election season by certifying the outcome of the Oct. 9 run-off election between Mike Daugherty, who won re-election to the Little Rock School District's Zone 2 seat, and his challenger, Anna Swaim.
The vote totals made official by the certification Monday do not change the outcome, but they differ slightly from the complete but unofficial totals announced after the polls closed on election day. That's because 11 ballots were cast in circumstances that had to be reviewed by the commission before they could be counted. Making decisions on whether to count what are termed provisional ballots is a routine matter of business for the commission.

The unofficial results on Oct. 9 showed Daugherty with 1,446 votes and Swaim with 1,248 votes.
