Gilmore receives ACHE Regent's Award

— Phillip Gilmore, president and chief executive officer of Hot Spring County Medical Center recently received the American College of Healthcare Executives Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent's Award.

He received the award at the Arkansas Health Executive's Forum Breakfast during the 77th annual Arkansas Hospital Association.

John Robbins, who holdsa Fellow status in American College of Healthcare Executives, bestowed the honor on Gilmore.

The Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent's Award recognizes American College of Healthcare Executives affiliates who are experienced in the field, as well as those who have significantly contributed toward the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of the goals of American College of Healthcare Executives.

Gilmore has served as CEO of Hot Spring County Medical Center since 2004, after serving 17 years at Arkansas Children's Hospital in many administrative positions.

Gilmore received his bachelor's degree and master's degree from theUniversity of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Miss., in 1971 and 1973, respectively.

He also received a master's degree, in 1978, in health administration from Washington University School of Medicine Graduate Program in Heal Administration in St. Louis.

In 2005, Gilmore was selected as a Distinguished Alumnus from the Washington University Health Administration Program.

He was also the recipient of the 2006 Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary Association Administration of the Year Award.

Gilmore holds Fellow status in the American College of Healthcare Executives and is the president of the organization and former Arkansas Regent.
