Trojans set up showdown for first

— Three Hot Springs backs combined for 297 rushing yards as the Trojans defeated Little Rock Fair 33-12 on Friday night.

The victory gives the Trojans (7-2, 5-1 5A-Southwest) a chance to win the conference championship next week against Camden Fairview.

The Trojans didn't waste much time getting on the scoreboard. Quarterback Dezhe Willis, who ran for a team-high 113 yards, seemed to get the entire War Eagles defense to bite on a fake handoff and ran up the middle of the field and flipped into the end zone for a 22-yard touchdown run.

Hot Springs struck again after holding the War Eagles (2-6, 1-5) to a quick three-and-out. This time, the Trojans needed a little trickery, faking a punt on fourthand-3 by snapping the ball to running back Jeremiah Maglero, who ran for a 21-yard gain. A few plays later, sophomore fullback Christian White ran the ball in from 18 yards out to increase the score to 13-0.

After the Trojans stuffed Devan Thompson on a fourth-and-3, Maglero scored Hot Springs' third touchdown. Maglero finished the night with 109 yards on the ground.

Sophomore running back Stephen Houston led all runners with 174 yards.
