NLR defense too tough for top-ranked Bryant

— The North Little Rock Charging Wildcats used a tenacious defense to take down the top-ranked and previously unbeaten Bryant Hornets 21-0 during senior night at Charging Wildcats Stadium in North Little Rock.

The Charging Wildcats (3-6, 1-5) held strong all night, giving up just 19 rushing yards to the Hornets and forcing Bryant senior quarterback Logan Parker into three interceptions.

The game was tied at 0-0 late in the first half when North Little Rock scored on a trick play.

Sophomore Corbin McCuienlined up at quarterback and pitched the ball to senior Brian Bryles, who then turned to find McCuien running untouched toward the end zone for a 26-yard pass and a 6-0 lead they took into halftime.

North Little Rock kept momentum early in the second half by scoring on its first possession when David Hope hit Brian Bryles with an 18-yard touchdown pass.

The Hornets (7-1, 5-1) ventured inside the North Little Rock 10 three times, but turned it over twice and missed a field goal on another try.
