NORRIS READY, 78, of North Little Rock unexpectedly passed awayOctober 22, 2007. Mr. Norris was a well-known local businessman. He was the owner of the former Norris' Barber & Beauty/ One Trip Beauty Supply, a member of the Morning Star Masonic Lodge, and a Veteran of the Korean conflict.

AUDREY VAN SKIVER of Little Rock, age 86, went home to be with God on October 25, 2007. She was born on July 31, 1921, in Hensley, Ark., to Colonel Jackson and Bertie Wade Wilkerson.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents and husband, C.A. Van Skiver; son, Mark Van Skiver; two brothers, C.J. Jr. and Don Wilkerson; two sisters, Redith Waters and Fern Louallen. BEEBE - Nora Friedrich Massey, age 94, of Beebe, Arkansas, diedThursday, October 25, 2007. Nora was born February 12, 1913, at Gerard, Kansas, and moved to Arkansas at the age of four. She was retired from Redmond Motors and Franklin Electric, and was a member of StoneyPoint Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Coleman Massey, her parents, John and Myrtle Friedrich, and by her twin sister, Cora Richards, sister, Pearl Woods and by baby brother, John, Jr. Friedrich. CROSSETT - Rosalind Shekinah White, 15, of Crossett died on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Oklahoma Children's Hospital. She was born on Dec. 23, 1991, in El Dorado. She was the daughter of Clifton and Brenda Bowens White. She was a sophomore at Crossett High School. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Crossett.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and a brother, Derrick White. Survivors father, Clifton White, of Crossett; two sisters, Regina S. White of Crossett and Delisha Bowens of Dallas, Texas.

DeWITT - Clyde Wesley Lockley, age 69, died Oct. 25, 2007. He was born March 5, 1938, to John David and Mary Lou Lockley. Mr. Lockley was a member of Sunnyside Missionary Baptist church, retired Plant Superintendent at Producers Dixie Dryer Division, and an avid gardener. Mr. Lockley also served in the DeWitt Police Department and Arkansas County Sheriffs Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and four sisters. Survivors include wife, Betty Phipps Lockley; son and daughterin-law, Johnny and Alta Lockley; grandchildren, Heath Lockley and Jena Lockley all of DeWitt; and two brothers, James Lockley of North Carolina and J.D. Williams of Florida.

JONESBORO - Dr. Rodney Franklin Carlton, 72, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, formerly of Texarkana, Texas died at the N.E.A. Medical Center in Jonesboro on October 19, 2007. He was born in Salem, Arkansas and was a retired Pathologist, and a former Arkansas State Medical Examiner for 11 years, and Professor at UAMS, and he also did private practice in Texarkana, Texas. He was of the Church of Christ belief.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Wanda Pickren Carlton. Survived by his loving wife: Joan Carlton of the home; two sons: Scott Carlton of Texarkana, Texas, Dr. Randy Carlton and his wife Jennifer of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one brother Charles Jones of Alexander, Arkansas; one sister: Donna Harris of Killeen, Texas; four grandchildren.

LAKEVIEW - Jane Adair Rowland Farquhar, age 49, of Lakeview, Arkansas died Thursday, October 25th, 2007. She was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, September 26th, 1958 to Estelle L. Whitfield Rowland and to the late Clyde G. Rowland. She was preceded in death by her brother: Travis ScottRowland. Jane was employed by Gaston's White River Resort where she served as Hostess for the past four years.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years: Richard Farquhar, her two sons: David Allen Ruch and his wife Broeck of Springfield, Illinois and by Phillip Wade Ruch of Lakeview; granddaughter: Alyssa Jane Ruch, her mother: Estelle Rowland Pearl, four sisters: Rebecca Ralls, Laura Davis and husband Johnny, Samantha Williams and husband John, Sharon Burnett and husband Nicky; two brothers: Ricky Pearl and wife Belinda and Jason Pearl. LONOKE - Lilburn Hardy "L.H." Autry Jr., 78, died October 25, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born March 25, 1929, in Burdette, Arkansas. He was a dedicated teacher and educator and a devoted public servant his entire professional career. He was a counselor ofthe disabled at Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center. He also was Director of Rehab Services for the Blind for the State of Arkansas. He continued his career at the University of Oklahoma as Director of a Management Training Program in Continuing Education.

He was an extremely creative man; an artist and musician who loved to play and hear music. He enjoyed painting and loved to give his artwork to friends and family. L.H. spent hours working in his shop and could build or fix anything. He loved feeding the birds and his pets always held a special place in his heart. He was a member of Lonoke Baptist Church and loved to be around friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, L.H. Autry, Sr. and Lucile Autry and an infant daughter, Dianne. Survivors include his wife of 56 years Betty Autry of Lonoke;

children, Rosanne Florence and husband Michael of Lonoke, David Autry and wife Colleen of New York City; sister, Mollie Rose Molnar and husband Gene of Springfield, Missouri; granddaughter, Megan Florence of Lonoke, numerous cousins and many beloved family friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, October 29 at 2 p.m. at Lonoke Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Lonoke Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.

RISON - Nathan L. Barlow, age 57, of Rison, died at his home,Thursday, October 25, 2007, following a courageous, three year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was born November 21, 1949, in Hastings, Michigan, the son of the late Louis Otis Barlow of Hastings, Michigan, and Gusta NellBanks Barlow of Jasper, Alabama. Nathan grew up in Jasper and completed his schooling at Walker County High School and received his A.S. at Walker College, Jasper, Alabama. He received his B.S. at Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, Alabama, and was listed among the Who's Who in Alabama.Nathan also had a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Library Science Degree and a Business/Economics Degree.

Nathan was a nationally published poet and writer, having over 40 published poems and articles. He did post graduate work in English, Business Education, Secondary Education, and a Master's Program in Elementary Education at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Nathan also did post graduate work in Library Science at Southern Arkansas University. He was an English teacher, Adult Education Teacher, was Library Director for the Arkansas Department of Correction School District and was a librarian at Rison Elementary School before his retirement. Nathan served in the Marines. He retired from the Arkansas National Guard, having been activated during Desert Storm. Nathan served on the Cleveland County Library Board and was instrumental in acquiring funding for the library building. In the early 1970's, Nathan came to Star City, Arkansas, as quality Control Manager for LeviStrauss. He soon met and married his wife, Vicki Langford. Nathan was a member of the American Legion and of Hebron United Methodist Church. He enjoyed working on scale model cars, genealogy, travel, working with youth groups, drum and bugle corps, civil war history and gardening.

Nathan is survived by his wife, Vicki Langford Barlow; son, Seth Eli Barlow of Rison; stepmother, Catherine Barlow of Hastings, Michigan; mother-in-law, Billie Langford of Kingsland; brothers, Malcolm Barlow and wife Deborah of Douglasville, Georgia, Raymond Barlow and wife Marquita of Hastings, Michigan; stepbrother, James Russell and wife Marilyn of Ada, Michigan; stepsister, Gloria Hummel and husband Marvin of Grand Ledge, Michigan, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2007, at Hebron United Methodist Church in the Hebron Community near Kingsland with Reverend William Paul Woolley, Reverend Maurice Caldwell and Reverend Dusty Rhodes officiating. WARD - Arlene Smith, age 73, of Ward, passed away Friday, October 26, 2007. She was born January 26, 1934, in Old Austin to the late Loy B.Ross and Ava Howell Ross.

RANTOUL, Ill. - Pearl Frandsen Robinson passed away on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at her home. In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held. She will be buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Judsonia, Ark. She was born on Feb. 19, 1919, in Judsonia, Ark., a daughter of David and Ethel Truax. She married Foy Robinson and for many years they owned and operated the OK Cleaners in Rantoul, Ill. After Foy retired, they moved to Fairfield Bay, Ark. She returned to Rantoul 10 years ago.

Survivors include daughter Karen Fitterer, a son Dr. Bob Robinson and 3 grandchildren; Michelle Robinson, Chantel Dauenhauer and David Stanley, and one great-granddaughter Tillie Dauenhauer. She was preceded in death by husbands Foy Robinson and Fred Frandsen as well as a son, Tom Robinson and an infant daughter.

JOPLIN, Mo. - Irene Olive Grubbs Davis, 88, of Joplin, Mo., formally of Benton, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007. She was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Prattsville, Ark., to the late James and Betty Grubbs.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Graydon Davis, daughter, Lucy Anita Gattin, firstborn son, Andy Ray Davis, grandson, Josh Gattin, three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include her youngest son, Leny Earl Davis, Joplin, Missouri, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and sister, Floy Davis of Benton.

Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be Monday at 2 p.m. with burial at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Bauxite. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Family comments: Irene lived in and around Benton until she was 70. She then moved to Britton, S.D., to live with her son, Leny. They both moved to Branson, Mo., in 1998 and then to Joplin in 2004. Irene liked to crochet, paint and draw, especially birds, and she loved to sit on the bank and fish. She was a loving and caring mother and will be missed by all that knew her, especially her son, "I will miss you most, Mama !"
