Woman dies when car hits 18-wheeler

— A 31-year-old Louisiana woman died early Sunday after her car swerved across the center line and struck an oncoming tractor-trailer in Sevier County.

Geralyn P. Prevost of Kentwood, La., was driving north on U.S. 71 in Lockesburg at 12:19 a.m. when her 2005 Chevrolet sedan crossed into the southbound lane and hit a 2003 Freightliner, according to an Arkansas State Police accident report.

Prevost was pronounced dead at the scene by Sevier County Deputy Coroner RustyWilliams.

The driver of the tractortrailer, Blaine R. Chambers, 49, of Smithdale, Miss., was injured and taken to De Queen Regional Medical Center. No information on his condition was available Sunday.
