Delegate-heavy states win visits

Arkansas low on hopefuls' lists

Arkansas may be on the map for presidential candidates, but it hasn't yet made their schedules.

While the state plays a small part in the Democratic and Republican nominations, it carries a larger symbolic weight for Hillary Rodham Clinton and Mike Huckabee. Both hope familiar ties will help them carry the state during the multistate election contests set for Feb. 5.

But neither has made plans to campaign here.

Instead, as their opponents focused on South Carolina and Tuesday's Florida primary, Clinton and Huckabee both trekked across the country to play to crowds in places where they're putting much of their nomination hopes.
