MARY ANGELA DURAN LILL CORNETT LEWIS

— Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church was the setting at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 10, for the marriage of Mary Angela Duran and Lill Cornett Lewis. The Rev. Shari Coote of Pulaski Heights Christian Church and the Rev. Jason Ferguson of Hawley Memorial United Methodist Church of Pine Bluff officiated.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wayne Duran, 1408 Twin Lakes Drive, are the parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Duran of Banks and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mooney Savary of Little Rock.

The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Banca Wheeler Lewis of Somerset, Ky., and the late Mr. Lewis. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Jason Dewey Compton, also of Somerset, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Lewis of Wooten, Ky.

The chancel held two pedestal arrangements of calla lilies, peonies, tulips and bells of Ireland in shades of lavender and light green. Music was by organist Margaret Shook, guitarist and vocalist Dennis Ouelette and vocalist Elizabeth Reha. Readers were Mrs. Alex Duran of Little Rock and Mrs. Guyde Verges of Tulsa.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Maggie Sottero gown of antique gold. The asymmetrical ruched bodice had a sweetheart neckline. Fabric rosettes embellished the hip of the side-draped skirt. Around her shoulders she wore a handmade stole of matching antique gold fabric. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies and tulips.

Lisa Dewey of Washington was matron of honor.

Flower girls were Lauren and Lindsey Duran of Little Rock, nieces of the bride.

Ed Lewis of Louisville, Ky., served as his brother's best man. Seating the guests was Alex Duran of Little Rock, brother of the bride.

Guest tables at a reception in the Junior League of Little Rock Buildingwere covered with lavender and sage iridescent cloths. They had alternating centerpieces of lavender and light green wedding flowers in tall glass cylinders and low vases. A garden-style arrangement of wedding flowers centered the buffet.

The bride is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Tulsa with a bachelor's degree in political science. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a Harry S. Truman Scholar.She received a master's degree in public policy from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. She is president of the Southern Good Faith Fund.

The bridegroom received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky at Lexington. He is an engineer with Millennium Utility Consultants.

After a honeymoon in Eureka Springs, the couple will live in Little Rock.
