General surgeon joins Batesville, Mountain View medical centers

— Gary L. Bebow, administrator/CEO of White River Medical Center announced the addition Dr. Nicholas Gyles, general surgeon to the medical staff at White River Medical Center in Batesville and Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View.

Gyles received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. He completed residency training in surgery at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Mo., and completed a trauma surgery fellowship at St. Louis University Medical Center in St. Louis.

General surgeons are physicians who operate to repair injuries, correct deformities, prevent diseases and generally improve the health of patients. They examine patients to determine if surgery is necessary and select the appropriate surgical procedure. Gyles' practice will be focused on surgeries of the gastrointestinal organs such as colon, stomach, gall bladder, liver and appendix as well as surgical critical care and trauma care.
