MERLE EVA BOERNER, age 94, of Little Rock died Monday, August 24, 2009. She was born in Niagara, Wisconsin to the late Edward and Rose Gardepy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gene Riel and Jim Boerner; and sons, Donald and Robert Riel.

Merle is survived by her five grandchildren, Michael, Elisabeth, Catherine, David and Richard; by nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and daughter-in-law, Alyn Riel.

PAULA KATHRYN HAGAMAN, 65, of Little Rock died Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock after a lengthy illness. Ms. Hagaman was born August 11, 1944 in Tyler, Texas to Howard and Bobbye Thomas Hagaman. She was raised in Stuttgart, Arkansas and attended schoolthere until she moved to Jonesboro in 1962. Paula was a graduate of Nettleton High School in Jonesboro. She received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and her Masters in Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and was employed as a Licensed Master Social Worker.

Ms. Hagaman was preceded in death by her parents, her special grandmother, Katherine "Katee" Hagaman, and her son-in-law Randy Arnold. Survivors are her children, Charles Robert Hoskyn (Margaret) of Sherwood and Cathelene Hoskyn Arnold of Jonesboro; two brothers, Robin H. Hagaman of Holly Grove, Marvin T. Hagaman (Mary) of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Cammy, Natalie, Christian and Lea; and one great-grandchild, Parker, a host of nieces and nephews, and her Fayetteville "sisters."

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 29 at 1 p.m. at Huson Funeral Home, 7700 Highway 107, Sherwood, Arkansas with Dr. Sam Roberts officiating. ROY ALLEN HARRIS JR., age 61, of Mabelvale, Arkansas died Wednesday,August 26, 2009 at the Baptist Health Medical Center. He was born May 28, 1948 in Fort Knox, Kentucky to his parents Roy Allen Sr. and Melva Hughes Harris. Roy was a veteran of the United States Marines and was in the 1st Graduating Classfrom McClellan High School in 1966. In addition, he was a hard worker and enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren. He was truly loved by all that knew him and he will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife Ginger of Mabelvale; two daughters, Gina Scroggins of Little Rock and Deanna Ward (Pat) of Bryant; his mother, Melva Harris Grandon of Benton; two brothers, Danny Harris of Little Rock and Ronnie Harris of Magnolia; two sisters, Shirley Collins of Benton and Marilyn Hoyt of Sheridan; seven grandchildren, Robby Brannan, Karissa Thomas (Jonathan), Jessie Scroggins, Jacob Ward, Julianna Ward, and Jenna Ward; and one great-grandson, Joshua Thomas. He is preceded in death by his father Roy Allen Harris, Sr. and his stepfather Ray Grandon.

Kathy King died August 27, 2009in Little Rock. Kathy was born in North Little Rock, on July 17, 1930 to Judd Cullens and Willie Mae Diffee. She was a native of North Little Rock.

She graduated from North Little Rock High School and worked for Farm Bureau Insurance Agency, and after retiring she and her husband Bill enjoyed years living on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs before settling in North Little Rock. They spent a lot of their time traveling with friends to Arkansas Razorback football games. Kathy was an avid reader.

She was preceded in death by her father, Judd Cullens. Survivors include her husband, Billy Ray King; mother, Willie Mae Diffee; two sons, Bobby Diffee and wife Oma, Clay Hamilton and wife Debby; three grandsons, Robert Diffee, Gabe Hamilton and wife Ree of North Little Rock and Hunter Hamilton and wife Terrah of Memphis, Tenn.

SARAH ANN PRESSON RUNNELLS, 53, passed away Wednesday, August26, 2009, at her home in Little Rock, after a brief illness.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Runnells, of Little Rock; her father, Col. (Ret.) David R. Presson and his wife, Frances, of San Antonio, Texas; her brother, David M. Pressonand his wife, Ginger, of Raleigh, North Carolina; her sister, Susan J. Presson of Little Rock; and her 4-legged children Roscoe, Buddy and Max.

Sarah was a prominent attorney at the Little Rock Law Firm of Huckabay, Munson, Rowlett & Moore. She received her undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Little Rock and a long time member of the Junior League of Little Rock.

Sarah's passions included cooking, reading and gardening. She often shared her beautiful flowers with her family and friends. Sarah was the consummate professional woman yet she always shared her generous, loving spirit with family, friends and even strangers. Her impact on our lives was enormous, and her passing will leave an immense void in the lives of all she touched.

JACQUELINE PARRISH SANDERS, 36, of Jacksonville died Saturday, August 22, 2009. She was born January 23, 1973, in Little Rock to Jesse Parrish and Cynthia Lafond Rye. Jacqueline was a home maker and a graduate of Eastern College of Health Vocations where she studied to be a medical assistant. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Edith and Edward Parrish, and her maternal grandfather, Bob Lafond.

Jacqueline is survived by her husband, Maurice Sanders; three children, Jeffrey Whitfield, Tyler Whitfield and Talorian Parrish; her father and stepmother, Jesse and Susie Parrish; and her mother and step-father, Cynthia and Bill Rye. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Betty Lafond; a brother, Michael Lafond; and two sisters, Sherry Taneer and Camielle Vanness as well as a host of other family and friends.

HENRY LYNN SHUPTRINE, 62, of Mabelvale, slipped away on the wings ofhis angel on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at 1:30 AM. He was born May 28, 1947, in Texarkana, Ark., to the late Robert and Pearl Shuptrine. A Vietnam veteran, Henry served in the U.S. Army from August 7, 1967, until July 30, 1969. Afterretiring as a long distance truck driver, he worked for Baptist Health driving a truck and the Little Rock School District driving a bus part time. His favorite hobbies were his yard work and his swimming pool. Some of his happiest times were the family get-togethers. He loved to eat. His grandchildren were his pride and joy along with his Pomeranian, Rowdee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Dianne Griffis-Shockley; sister, Bobbie Jean Holley; and brother, Ronnie Harold. He is survived by his wife, Cecile Ann Shuptrine; two daughters, Jacqueline Annette Griffin and husband Joey, and Brandi Lynn Shuptrine Bailey and husband Anthony; brother, Darrell Shuptrine and wife Deby; five grandchildren, whom he dearly loved, Annie "Joey" Ethridge, Arron Ethridge, Cambria Bailey, Kalem Bailey and Hayden Shockley; a much loved brother-inlaw, Darrell Roberts; and many, many friends and relatives.

ARKADELPHIA - Dr. P.R. Anderson, 90, left this earth on Wednesday August26, 2009 at his home in Arkadelphia.

He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Lee Anderson, and his son Rupert Anderson. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Hugh Harrison of Clarksville, four grandchildren:Bryan Anderson and wife Onjie of Dallas, Texas, Alexis Morris and husband Ryan of Greenville, N.C., Kacee Anderson of Hickory, N.C., and Andy Harrison and wife Ashley of Holly Ridge, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Mia Anderson of Dallas, Texas, and Sincere and Lela Grace Anderson of Hickory, N.C., sisterin-law, Estelle Bethea of Little Rock, and brother-in-law, James Cotham and wife Shirley of Lawton, Oklahoma.

Dr. Anderson attended Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway, and graduated from the University of Arkansas Medical School in Little Rock in 1940. He practiced medicine for 30 years as a surgeon and general practice physician in Arkadelphia. He was a Captain in the United States Army and served as a doctor in the European Theater throughout World War II. He was active in his community serving on the Arkadelphia school board and hospital board, as well as enjoying and supporting the Arkansas Razorback Football program.

His main interest was always family and he spent his life doing all he could to encourage and support family members. Most recently he was able to devote himself to the love of his life, Alice Lee (his biggest fan), during her lengthy illness as they continued to enjoy their deep love, laughter, and companionship that had become their trademark.

BENTON - Bobby Gene Hanvey, 77, of Benton, went to be with the Lord after a long battle with a heart condition. He was born January 14, 1932 in Prentiss County, Miss., to the late Carl and Sybil Hanvey. Bobby was a U.S. Navy Veteran, member of Highland Heights Baptist Church and was retired as a meat cutter at the Little Rock Air Force Base.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Garry Hanvey and his wife, Paula, and granddaughter, Joy Hanvey. CABOT - Henry "Hank" Dale Honeywell, age 68, of Cabot passed away Saturday, August 22. He was born in Wright City, Oklahoma, to Guy F. and Gladys (Igo) Honeywell. He was graduated from Oregon State University in Civil Engineering in 1970 and then began his 39-year career with the Federal Highway Administration, retiring in 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann; children, Jon Honeywell (wife Ashley) and Craig Honeywell; brother, Fred Honeywell; and sisters, Venita Stevenson, Darlene Gaskey, Kathy Reynolds, and Peggy Honeywell. He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Family and friends were very important to Hank. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and camping.A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 30, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 301 South Pine Street, Cabot, Arkansas.

MOUNT DORA, Fla. - Lula "Puggie" Gray Howell of Mt. Dora, Florida (former long-time resident of Little Rock) was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to parents, Dr. Alfred Gray and Agnes Ball Gray on June 3, l916. Puggie resided in Little Rock until June, 2000 when she moved to Florida to be close to her children, Patricia Howell Tate who lived in Naples and William Max Howell Jr. of Orlando. She lived in Naples near her daughter until 2006 when the three of them moved to Mt. Dora, Florida.

While in Little Rock, Puggie was active in the Democratic Women's Club where she held the office of treasurer of the State Democratic Women's Club and later served as vice-president and president of the Little Rock unit. She was a past president of the Little Rock Departmental Club and the Women's City Club. She was also a member of the D.A.R., the D.A.C., and the Arkansas Pioneers.

She is also survived by her "Granddog," Spudnick.

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. - Deloris Mc-Daniel Rounsavall, 76, of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, died Tuesday, August25, 2009. Deloris was born on November 29, 1932 in Drew, Mississippi to Leola Dew McDaniel and Charles Elkins McDaniel. Deloris married Charles Lindy Rounsavall of Hazen, Arkansas in August of 1951 and they were married for 46 years until Charles' death in 1998.

Deloris is survived by her children, Linda Brewer of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; Tom Rounsavall and wife, Karan of Cocoa, Florida; and Mike Rounsavall and wife, Sue of Burlington, North Carolina. Grandchildren, Christen Brewer Franks and husband, Scott, Michael Charles Rounsavall and Kevin Richard Rounsavall; great-grandchildren, Nate, Brandon, and Reagan Franks; sister-in-law, Jane Rounsavall of Greenville, Mississippi; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Eve Rounsavall of Los Angeles, California, as well as a beloved group of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
